Pick a Card: Your Weekly Reading (6/14/14)

Posted by Donnaleigh on June 14, 2014 at 7:10 PM

Welcome to my tarot table!

Relax, have a seat and get comfortable.

Come, have a reading and a cup of tea.

I've taken out 3 favorite decks today.

Two of them are tarot decks and one (gasp!) is an oracle deck.

Which deck is calling to you for a reading?

I've also thrown in a rune with each one for good fortune and clarity.

Pick a deck, and let's see what special message awaits you this week.

TIP: You may want to hover your hand over each one to see which one pulls you. Do you feel a pull? Or a warm spot?  Maybe you have a pendulum you can use. The card you pick will embody something energetic around you for the next week.

Once you choose a card and feel confident with your choice,

If You Chose Card 1

Oracle of Visions, Card 20 (Belief, Faith)

Rune Mannaz (Man, The Self, Mankind)

Our differences are what make us human. And yet our differences also cause many misunderstandings between each other. We tend to assume others think the same way we do...or what usually happens more often....is believing that they should

Have you ever noticed how sensitive people are to opinions? Have you ever felt how deeply emotional people can become and how personally people take these differences in opinions?  To be challenged or doubted on an opinion can be felt as a personal insult to the receiver. Yet often it is nothing about putting anything negative on each other....it is about each person's uniqueness, likes, differences, beliefs. Yet we seem to own our opinions so deeply that they sometimes feel like extensions of ourselves. If you don't like my opinion, does this mean you don't like me? This is where the erroneous thinking resides.

With each one of us that enters the world, a new presence and unique thoughts and ideas that never existed before us will come to this planet to live. Each of us is complicatedly unique. The filter through which we experience the world is uniquely ours. And it is this unlimited diversity is what can make life and learning and growing so exciting.

And yet....diversity is also our biggest challenge. Religion, cultures, countries or towns where we live, politics, opinions, societal status....each of these things can bind people together or rip them apart. Since man has begun, we've needed to bond with each other, and yet we continue to destroy each other. It's usually over opinions. Will it ever change? It's our differences that both beautify mankind as well as come between us.

This week, take note of the differences -- whether subtle or extreme -- that reside in yourself, differences from others who are around you. How do your own personal differences make you proud? How do they embarrass you in certain company? Do you hide them? Do you joyfully flaunt them? Each of these differences are an authentic part of yourself that should be appreciated.

Next, take note of how different others are from you. Consider the times that we judge because we think someone should be more like us. Perhaps they are thinking the same of us....that we should be more like them. What would happen if each just "let it be" and respected that the differences are in the very DNA of mankind? Is it okay to have differences of opinions and to agree to disagree? Without getting cranky? Without taking it personally?

Despite our differences, we each feel a need to be accepted. And differences play a key role here. Will we be accepted if we're different? Will we accept others if they are? And all the while we're trying to fit in, we should take note of when we are trying make others become just like us, to believe like us. Is it necessary? Can they be happy and complete living their own truth, even if it is of a different variety? Can we be happy letting them be?

This week, release the need to change someone's thoughts. Release it like a peaceful butterfly to the wind and let it travel where it may. It's not our responsibility to change others' opinions and add them to a pocket full of conquests. It is our responsibility, however, to better ourselves and we'll find our own opinions shifting as we mature. But not because someone force-fed an opinion down our throat. We change opinions through life experience.

Opinions can and do change. What you believe with all your heart today can be altered and shattered in a moment with a sudden jolt of unexpected truth. There may come a day when you and the other individual are on the opposite karmic side of the opinions you hold today....and are learning the other side of each others' "truths."

This week, consider a difference in someone that bothers you. How can you create a space of ease to let that person be what they are, to not consider it "right" or "wrong," but "what is".... their uniqueness that is meant to be expressed by them and not changed? Is it possible to listen to their opinion without offering a counter-argument to try and change their mind? Is it possible to have your opinion challenged without taking offense? Whose annoying opinion can you let go of this week? By releasing it, how will this improve your life space?

of dreaming that I am persecuted whenever I am contradicted.”

If You Chose Card 2

Dream Raven Tarot, 3 of Swords (reversed)

Rune Wunjo (Victory, Joy)

Ah, no one wants to get the stab-me-in-the-heart 3 of Swords. But this one comes with a pleasant surprise. This card arrived in the reversed position (shown upright here for the sake of the picture), and it comes in tandem with (surprise!) the "victory" rune!  Ooo-la-la and sis-boom-bah!

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, we are naturally disappointed. But sometimes the Universe has bigger plans for us. As they say, sometimes not getting what you want  is the best thing that could have ever happened to you.

We have goals and plans, and when things don't go according to our personal vision, we get frustrated. We feel set back.  But sometimes we are being gently (or not so gently) re-directed to something greater. Much greater.  Just like a child might foolishly choose sweets that are not in the best interest of their health, adults can be hypnotized by the sweetness of something alluring....when it may not be good for us at all.

The victory rune here suggests that a disappointment for you this week is actually something working heavily in your favor and for your benefit. This will allow you a larger win that could not have been adequately achieved on the path you were taking. It's not a loss, boss! It is actually a "win!"  It's a divergent path from what you expected, but lo, you are about to be redirected to an amazing scenic route. So don't pout, instead celebrate and anticipate a much better surprise coming your way. In a twist of luck, the alternate route suddenly will contain an answer you seek.

And remember, it's okay to get up and walk away without regret from something that just isn't working. Something better is going to come in your favor. But not until you leave space for it to enter by releasing what's already in your hands and doing little more than taking up valuable real estate in your grasp.

“Remember that sometimes not getting what you want

is a wonderful stroke of luck.”

― Dalai Lama XIV

If You Chose Card 3

Psychic Tarot for the Heart, 2 of Emotions (2 of Cups)

Rune Ehwaz (horse, travel, moving)

This is a card of convergence between people. And with Ehwaz, the rune of travel, this can mean traveling to see someone, someone traveling to you, or metaphorically coming together with a person in a partnership. This is one of those cases of "two is better than one," or "the sum is better than each of the parts alone."  Each is bright, but together, the two positively radiate.

If you're initiating a bold new adventure, not going it alone right now is likely going to bring you your best (and most enjoyable) outcome, at least for the short term. The Ehwaz rune is about physical movements and changes, so a journey with (or toward) a person is at hand.

This is a card of harmony, so it's a good meeting of souls here. Each has the potential to deepen the other. You enhance them; they enhance you. This is also a card of healing, so when you converge with another this week, take note of how each of you can bring harmonious healing to the other. You will receive it, and you can gift it.

Know that what we remember most when looking back on our lives is our relationships. There is a relationship in your life that is a great gift to you that should highlight itself this week. And by exercising your powerful force of free will, you yourself can initiate a coming together with someone important to bring forth an important memory you'll someday look back on with a smile.

This is a fortuitious week for coming together. Is it too far to travel? Skype or the phone will create a connection. We live in a small world now, and it affords us few excuses when it comes to important relationships.

This card speaks of moving *toward* harmony and convergence. What was acrimonious may loosen and suddenly feel more gentle. Appreciate this opportunity and create an opening. Something that had a caustic bite may suddenly taste a bit sweeter. How will this result in a coming together for you?

He say, "I know you, you know me"

One thing I can tell you is you got to be free

Come together right now over me
