"And the lesson is always love."

~ Madeleine L'Engle Camp,

The most painful moments of our lives are often the ones we remember most.

Ironically, they are also the ones in which we are learning our most difficult lessons. But the lesson is always about love.

  • Is the lesson about what we did to lose love and how he can shift our behaviors the next time?
  • Is it about having been hurt by someone, and  perhaps we are learning a lesson about self-love, or receiving loving support from others? It may not be a lesson about loving the perpetrator, but loving ourselves despite the perpetrator. Self-love can be very powerful in deflecting hurtful statments.
  • Is the lesson about how we can offer ourselves to someone in pain?
  • Even situations that feel very un-loving or un-lovable, even quite hateful, may have a buried lesson about love that is being overlooked. Who can you find to love in your situation that will help bring you back to center?
  • How can your situation create a more open and loving space within yourself, without making you vulnerable or losing important self-care boundaries?
  • What needs to be removed so that you can  instill a better sense of love in your life?
  • Is the lesson about what we will accept in a loving relationship so that we can love ourself?

Today, draw two cards

from your favorite tarot deck or oracle and ask:

1) How is love a part of this lesson?

2) How can love give me strength?

For further exploration, you can also draw a card and ask a question about any of the self-care love statements noted in the opening paragraph bulleted above.

"The entire purpose of loving punishment is to teach, and it lasts only as long as is needed for the lesson. And the lesson is always love."

~Madeleine L'Engle Camp, who wrote this quote, was an American writer and poet most famous for her children's books, including the Newbery Medal-winning winning A Wrinkle in Time.

Here's wishing you a week of loving revelations,

Warmly,
